In the unforgiving Mesopotamian desert where Jayden’s tribe lives, betrothal celebrations abound, and tonight it is Jayden’s turn to be honored. But while this union with Horeb, the son of her tribe’s leader, will bring a life of riches and restore her family’s position within the tribe, it will come at the price of Jayden’s heart.
Then a shadowy boy from the Southern Lands appears. Handsome and mysterious, Kadesh fills Jayden’s heart with a passion she never knew possible. But with Horeb’s increasingly violent threats haunting Jayden’s every move, she knows she must find a way to escape—or die trying.
With a forbidden romance blossoming in her heart and her family’s survival on the line, Jayden must embark on a deadly journey to save the ones she loves—and find a true love for herself.
Set against the brilliant backdrop of the sprawling desert, the story of Jayden and Kadesh will leave readers absolutely breathless as they defy the odds and risk it all to be together.-- As seen on GoodReads
I’ve never had much luck with Historical books. In general I found them dull, boring and just not my cuppa tea. Then, I read Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers a week or so ago, and I loved it! Grave Mercy has spies, assassins, assassin NUNS, and general all-round bad-assery. This got me looking into all things Historical, and I came across Forbidden.
I’m not really buying that Jayden, with that spelling at least, was a name used in historical times… but we’ll go with it. The rest of the blurb sounds like it could be really good!
The cover is absolutely beautiful! I can't wait for this book to come out. Great choice.

DeleteI agree Jayden is not a historical name. Hopefully the book would be good though.

I really like the concept in the blurb, I just hope the name doesn't throw me off too much. Thanks for stopping by Angela!
DeleteNot sure how "historical" this book will be with a main character name like that. Still it does sound like an interesting setting. I loved Grave Mercy and need to read the rest of the series.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I agree. The setting and the concept in the blurb is drawing me in. Hopefully I can get over the name, it just doesn't feel right to me :) I loved Grave Mercy! It was so much better than my initial expectations. Thanks for stopping by Christina.
DeleteI haven't read many with tribes and this kind of feel to it, before, so it'll be an interesting change, that's for sure. :)
