Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
My Teaser: Upside Down by Lia Riley
Another wave barrels forward with my board poised directly at my head. My reflexes are slow and before I can protect myself, the fiberglass collides with my left temple in a sick crunch. The fin slices my cheek as if in afterthought. I sink into the wash, ears ringing. The world retreats into a murky sound.

If You Never Get Lost, You’ll Never Be Found
Twenty-one-year-old Natalia Stolfi is saying goodbye to painful memories—and turning her life upside down with a trip to the land down under. For the next six months, she’ll pretend to be a carefree exchange student. Everything is going to plan until she meets a surly surfer with hypnotic green eyes, and the troubling ability to see straight through her act.
Bran Lockhart is having the worst year on record. After the girl of his dreams turned into a nightmare, he slunk back to Melbourne to piece his life together. Yet no amount of disappointment could blind him to the pretty California girl who gets past all his defenses. He’s never wanted anyone the way he wants Talia. A single semester abroad won’t cover something this serious. But when Bran gets a stark reminder of why he stopped believing in love, he and Talia must decide if what they have is once-in-a-lifetime . . . or if there’s a plane to California with her name on it.-- As seen on Goodreads
Well, that doesn't sound too promising for her. I'm guessing though that she'll be saved by the good looking guy. That sounds like a good book. Great teaser! I'm reading a very different kind of love story. Very different. Here's my TT. Thanks for sharing! Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteLOL, you just might be onto something... :D Yeah, these books are always a little predictable, but they're lots of fun for a nice, light read! Thanks for stopping by Kimberly :)
DeleteSounds like fun! Thanks for sharing and enjoy...and here's mine: “SAVING GRACE”
ReplyDeleteThanks! I like changing up genres every now and then, makes a nice change of pace. I did expect to be craving creepy reads with Halloween around the corner... But, nope! My reading moods are demanding contemporary!
DeleteWhoop a novel situated in the 'land down under'! *waves arms around like a lunatic* Love the synopsis, Alma! And that's one unsettling quote :O

Hahahaha! It always works out so well in books, but I wouldn't risk it in RL! I kinda like my life a little too much!! We'll take the hot guy and the mouth-to-mouth without the drowning part, eh?? Thanks for stopping by Jessica :D
DeleteThat sounds a like fun - I do like how all the good looking men have beautiful eyes ;-) Thanks for visiting my TT http://cleopatralovesbooks.wordpress.com/2014/10/28/teaser-tuesday-october-28/
ReplyDeleteLOL, they always do! Part of the charm I think, teehee! Some of the descriptions of said eyes though, can go a bit overboard! Thankfully that didn't happen in this book :D Thanks for stopping by Cleo!
DeleteNow I need to read how he rides up on a wave and rescues her. LOL Sounds fun.

Ooh nice!! I love books set in Australia! For me though, I'm Irish, and I usually feel so weird reading books set in Ireland! LOL, I end up getting really critical of them for some reason. I blame my English classes in school, teehee! Thanks for stopping by, Naomi!
