Stacking the Shelves, #9

Stacking The Shelves is hosted by Tynga's Reviews and is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual.

Last week I confessed that after coming off a mini book buying ban, I went just a bit mad buying books online. I do think the post office will think I’ve hit some sort of lottery win with all the parcels that’ll be arriving at the door over the next couple of weeks! Oh how I wish it was true! Actually, if it was true, entire trucks full of books would be arriving at the door... but, I digress.

If you’ve visited the blog over the past month or so, you’ll know I’ve become pretty obsessed with getting my hands on a couple of sequels I've been pining over.

Well!

Finally, finally, FINALLY… they’ve arrived!

Books I Bought

Crown of Midnight // The Assassin’s Blade // Heir of Fire – all by Sarah J. Maas

Unhinged by A.G. Howard

I really want to push every other ARC and book aside and read these four beauties right now! Unfortunately, I don’t think I’m going to be able to. I have one published book and two ARC’s I need to get read - ideally within the next week - for an upcoming blog tour. I’m desperately trying to see if I can squeeze even one of these four in over the next week…

Oh, who am I kidding?! I’m going to give in! I don’t think I’ll be able to maintain that much willpower when I have Unhinged and Crown of Midnight sitting on my bookshelves!

Now, which one shall I read first - Unhinged or Crown of Midnight. Decisions, decisions…

On that note: I need a little help! Anyone read all the Throne of Glass books? Should I read Assassin’s Blade before or after Crown of Midnight? Or does it really matter which order I read them?

Kindle Freebies

Lovestruck in London by Rachel Schurig // The Ghost Files by Apryl Baker

Running on Empty // Recovery // Running in Place – all by L. B. Simmons

I found a few Kindle freebies that look pretty good! I don’t know much about the books or the authors, but in honesty I find it very hard to walk away from any free Kindle books, whether I read them right away or not!

That's my haul for this week. What books have you added to your shelves? Leave a link to your StS post if you like!

Have a great weekend, and Happy Reading!

  4. OOoh nice! I still need to start A.G. Howard's series myself! Have books 1 & ARC of 2 on my TBR Mountain of Doom, but like you said, review books tend to take priority, plus books of authors I plan to see in the coming weeks and I am rushing to get caught up on their series! Great haul & Happy Reading!

My STS will be up tomorrow, so be sure to stop by then!

    Have a GREAT day!

    1. Thanks Jessica! I loved Splintered, and I've been anxiously waiting on Unhinged! I don't think I'll be able to stay away from reading it though... It's way too tempting!! I feel incredibly guilty when I overlook ARC's, but I know I won't be able to give my full attention to a book when I have one eye on my bookcase and the book I really want to read :D

  6. You HAVE to give in, they're waaaaaaay too good not to. ;) I wasn't really buying any, I wasn't on a ban, just didn't feel like since I had enough review copies to read, and then...I let loose, haha. So many books. ;)

    Happy reading! :)

    1. Hahahahaha! I think I'm going to have to! I'll end up hating every book I read until I read at least one of them. I'll never go on a ban again, it's definitely not for me. I've more than made up for it now though :D Have a great week Kirsty-Marie, happy reading!

    1. Oh my goodness, it's awesome! I did give in, I started it yesterday, and I'm loving it :D I do feel bad about skipping over the ARC's, but if my mind isn't in the right place, I'll end up not enjoying the book as much as I should. Have a great week!

  14. So excited/happy for you, and that's a question I need answered too about Throne of Glass reading order. I read the first book and ordered the rest like you, and I seem to remember someone saying to read the novellas first before continuing because it helps you to understand Celena.

    1. I'm so undecided which to read first! I really want to continue on with the main story (*cough* Chaol *cough*), but then, if it's better to read the novella's first... arrghh! I think I'll end up flipping a coin and going on from there! :D
