If These Authors Wrote a Book Together, My Mind Would Implode

This week’s prompt is Top Ten Author Duos You'd LOVE To See Write A Book Together. I love so many authors’ individual styles and to match them up with someone else was a lot harder than I originally expected. I wasn’t able to come up with ten duos, but if any of these collaborations actually happened, I’d be insanely happy!

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme run by The Broke and the Bookish.

A.G. Howard and Kelly Creagh

I can see it now! They would create the most captivating retelling of all-time, and it would be simply magical. Individually, both authors have created some of my all-time favourite characters (*cough* Morpheus and Varen *cough*), and I could only begin to imagine what would happen if they joined forces. Add in the beautifully gothic-ish worlds they both created in the Splintered and Nevermore trilogies… oh gosh, this collaboration needs to happen!

Maria V. Snyder and Sarah J. Maas

I really suspect my mind would actually implode if this happened. Holy… can you even begin to imagine?! Two High Fantasy queen’s uniting to create a stunningly epic Fantasy novel? You know, I don’t think this amount of awesome could be contained in one book – it would have to be an entire series!

Sarah Rees Brennan and Marissa Meyer

Honestly, I wouldn’t really care what story they decided to come up with, I’d read it anyway! Both authors seamlessly juggle large casts of characters, and manage to make each one vibrant, unique and vital to the larger story. I love the humour Sarah creates in her books, and I could imagine the awesome banter these two would create between their characters!

Marie Rutkoski and Robin LaFevers

I could imagine them writing anything from Historical Fantasy, right up to Epic Fantasy, and it would be phenomenal! Anything involving Kingdoms, political intrigue, cutthroat assassins, and/or rebellion, and I think they’d nail it. From the books they’ve written that I’ve read, they’ve created awesomely complex characters in the past and adding this into phenomenal world-building… oh wow, anything they came up with would be amazing to read.

Karina Halle and James Dawson

There is only one genre I’d hope they’d tackle, and that’s horror! More recently Karina is known for her romance books, but it was her self-published horror books that made me a life-long fan. They are a fabulous blend of shit-yourself terror and awesome characterisation. (I still shudder when I think of a particular scene in Dead Sky Morning. *Whimpers*) And if you’ve visited my blog before, you know how much I love Say Her Name by James Dawson! Just thinking about these two teaming up to write a horror story… oh I would need that book more than air!

What do you think of my list? And which authors would you like to see write a book together?

Thanks for stopping by, and Happy Reading!

  1. I KNOW MOST OF THE AUTHORS but I don't know the author they are paired with!! Like I would read anything Marissa Meyer reads, but I have yet to read anything by Sarah Rees Brennan. But the name sounds really familiar, so I must have passed by her books online or in the store!

Awesome list Alma! Really like your choices :)
