Ten 2014 Releases I Meant to Read, But Didn't Get To

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme run by The Broke and the Bookish.

I’d love to be able to get my hands on every new bookish release – actually, I think we all would! – but alas, my bank balance isn’t infinite and the local library isn’t the most reliable, so my must-read list keeps growing with only the occasional trim here and there. Truthfully, this list is a LOT longer than 10 books, but these are the tip of a huge iceberg of 2014 releases that I wanted to read last year, but I’d love to read at some stage in 2015!

All links below the book covers are to each books Goodreads page.

Red Rising by Pierce Brown

Snow Like Ashes by Sarah Raasch

Cress by Marissa Meyer

The Merciless by Danielle Vega

Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson

We Were Liars by E Lockhart

Say Her Name by James Dawson

Trust Me, I’m Lying by Mary Elizabeth Summer

A Thousand Pieces of You by Claudia Gray

Talon by Julie Kagawa

Which books should I read ASAP?? Maybe Cress? But! I also want to get my hands on Red Rising…

  1. Lots of these made my longlist today too, but not so many made the shortlist, there was too many to choose between! I recommend getting stuck in to We Were Liars, it was quite a short read, so shouldn't take long to get through!

    1. It's so hard to decide between books, isn't it! I could easily have added another five or six =) I really do need to read We Were Liars - it's been sitting on my Kindle App for months! I need to check those Kindles from time to time. I always overlook them in favour of the physical books right in full-view on the bookshelves. Definitely need to change this!

    1. All the awesome reviews for Cress makes it even more tempting! I read Scarlet a few months back, and I kept putting off getting Cress to cut down on the wait time until Winter is released... this will have to change soon! I have to get my hand on it =) I need to know what happens! Thanks for stopping by, Ailyn!

    1. Yes, I did notice this! So many people want to read Snow Like Ashes, I really hope we all love it :D

I bought Since You've Been Gone late last year, but I kinda need to get in a contemporary mood! I really want to love it, and since I loved Amy and Roger's Epic Detour, I have pretty high expectations for this one.

    1. I've heard something about a twist... but that's about it! I've kept miles away from reviews, so I'll be going in completely clueless :D Hopefully I love it!

  9. I recently read We Were Liars and it was so amazing; it's definitely one of my new favorites. Since You've Been Gone is one that I've been meaning to read as well because it's been getting so many 5 star reviews. I've heard that the Merciless is really creepy if you read it at night which makes me really want to read it! Hopefully you'll get around to reading all of these this year. :)
