Weekly Wrap-Up: March 1 - 14

I’m linking up to The Sunday Post meme this weekend.

Re-Cap

Things didn’t exactly go as I’d planned this week… I sort of took an unplanned week off from blogging! I knew I’d be away from home, but I usually get some free time in the evenings, and I’d hoped to get some blogging done then. It’s worked for me in the past, so I didn’t worry about it too much… Unfortunately, my luck ran out this time, as the Wi-fi was down for the entire week! It’s one of those things that you can’t plan for, but it kinda sucks. Now that I’m back home I’m trying to catch up on everything as quick as I can!

I wish I could say my lack of blogging was entirely due to no internet, but it’s not. My bad-blogging ways have been creeping in for the past month or so. I haven’t been keeping up with replying to comments on the blog, visiting other blogs or writing posts. I really hope I’m not slowly sliding into a blogging slump. I think I might try posting a little less over the next few weeks, just in case. I’ll try anything to keep a slump away! In a way, I hope my unexpected week off helps with my motivation!

What I Read Recently

I’m SO FAR behind on my Goodreads reading challenge! I set my goal to 100 books this year, and I’m already 4 books behind. *Sobs* I think I’m becoming kind of paranoid that I’m reading slowly, I’m actually reading even slower as a result! Yep, I really need to stop over-thinking, and just READ! Shame it’s easier said than done…

Dreamfire by Kit Alloway Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling

I finished reading Dreamfire last weekend, and I only managed to read one book while I was away: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Yep, I’m making extremely slow progress through the Harry Potter books, but I’m really enjoying them!

Currently Reading

Gates of Thread and Stone by Lori M. Lee

I’ve started reading Gates of Thread and Stone last night. I haven’t made much progress yet, but I like it so far!

Have a fab week, and happy reading!

  1. Ah Harry Potter! I want to do a reread of them as they are my comfort reading books but I can't justify that right now as I have so many books I haven't read yet! I know what you mean about blogging-sometimes it feels more like a chore when it is supposed to be fun! I had a blogging slump the whole of last year but I'm back on track now and enjoying it again. I wish I could say the same about getting book reviews done-now THAT is a real chore for me at the moment! Hope you enjoy the rest of Harry Potter!

    1. Ooh, I know the feeling! I have quite a few ARC's built up, and I know I need to read them as soon as I possibly can. I signed up for a reread challenge this year, and I'd really hoped I'd be able to squeeze in lots of rereading... it hasn't exactly happened! I always feel guilty when I skip over an arc in favour of another book. And, oh gosh, I'm so far behind with writing reviews! No matter what I do, my mind won't focus on getting them done, grrr! Have a great week, Chuckles, thanks for stopping by, and good luck with getting review written!

  2. Keeping up with that reading challenge can be a real hard-ship, especially if you start to slip a tiny bit behind - it's so disheartening to see the 'behind' thing in the little comment underneath!
I hope you're not headed for a slump, either, Alma. But it's hard sometimes to keep up with everything - blogging, work, home, friends - you know :)
Have a fantastic week ahead, don't think about challenges, just enjoy the books you're reading.

    1. Yep, it can be so disheartening! Every time I log into GR, I see 'X' books behind schedule, le sigh! Hopefully I'll get back on track soon... or else I'll lower my goal amount... even if it's cheating, it might take some pressure off, teehee! Have a great week, Lexxie, thanks for stopping by!

  3. Haha! The Goodreads challenge can be intimidating sometimes! I try to just ignore it because I get stressed out when I see that I'm behind. Good luck!

    Here's my Weekly Recap!

    1. I'd love to be able to ignore it! I find it so hard to catch up once I've fallen behind. I'm thinking about hunting down a few novella's and short stories... it's probably cheating, but it'll make me feel a bit better about it, teehee! Thanks for stopping by, Tracy =)

  5. Hope you can fight that slump off. They suck and I should know as I'm just coming out of one! I hate that something I loved became a chore but taking time off really helped me. I had some posts up as they were already scheduled but I just didn't want to comment, visit other blogs, read reviews, etc. Thankfully it passed and I'm glad I didn't over worry about it. Now I'm back and feel twice as passionate after my mini break :)

    1. Thanks, Trish! Some days have been much better than others! I don't want to get into a really bad slump, so I'm trying to take it a bit slowly. I'd love to have a couple of weeks worth of posts fully completed... I have some posts done, but not really in any order. I definitely need to focus on this!
